Mountain Girls Adventures ~ Home Sweet Home

✿⊱ Home sweet home" is an English idiom that implies that one's own home or home town is preferable to all other places. Your home holds all of your families treasures and collections....and, more importantly, memories. Creating the right ambiance in your home that reflects your families style takes effort, time and money. One of the ways to begin creating or adding to your dream home is by creating a "Home Sweet Home" board on Pinterest.

If living in the mountains is where you dream of living "someday" then please, feel free to pin the pictures you like on Mountain Girls Adventures, Home Sweet Home Pinterest board.

One of my favorite things to do is bring the outdoors, indoors.  I enjoy using freshly dried pine cones, aromatic rocky mountain juniper boughs, nature-dried wild flowers, fallen Aspen branches and old, rustic farm and garden tools that have been long unused. I have quite the collection of vintage garden and carpenter hand tools as well as farm country, old charm kitchen gadgets and collectibles.  I am a big fan of Bean Pots and I am especially excited about the McCoy original I scored at a local vintage shop for a very good price.

Earth tones fill my home with various wrought iron decor and fabrics of earthy-rich browns, deep forest greens, pumpkin spice orange, a bit of cranberry and rusty red accents, milky lush creams, and rich dark mahogany and pine furniture.  I love it when my friends come over and feel right at home: all comfy and cozy as they sip a glass of Merlot with me.

Scented candles of Amber Wood and Vanilla, Cinnamon and Bayberry, Ginger Pumpkin or Mahogany Apple give my home that welcoming glow and a sense of well being.  I can never have too many candles, so once a year I try to throw a candle, wine and chocolate party with my favorite candle lady and girlfriends.  It's a great way to get my scented wax at a discount and as you can probably imagine...a ton of fun!

Creating a mountain style home has been a wonderful journey for me.  I have found treasure after treasure in antique shops, vintage swap meets, yard sales and a variety online shops.  I am always on the hunt for vintage McCoy bean pots, unique mountain decor and butter bells

Well, I sure hope you enjoy your visit to the Mountain Girls Adventures, Home Sweet Home Pinterest board! I would love it if you would share this Blog and Pinterest page with your friends.
